Become a Delegate to the New Hampshire Republican Convention

Get Elected
 

Republicans wishing to be elected a delegate to the Republican State Convention held in the fall prior to biennial elections (even numbered years) should sign up during filing period for all candidates in June (2nd to 11th) at their City or Town Clerk’s office. Those running for delegate will be listed on the ballot, along with candidates for office, in the September (14th) primary election. The Secretary of State’s office will post the winners on its website after the election.

Note: All Republican nominees, including candidates for office and elected delegates, are eligible to vote at the New Hampshire Republican State Convention.    

Responsibilities
 

All delegates (and candidates) are expected to attend the New Hampshire Republican State Convention which will be held in Concord on September 25, 2010.  Delegates are also the voting members who select the state committee members at the County and City Republican caucuses held no later than December 15 following the general election.

Note: While elected officials are automatically delegates, they are NOT automatically voting state committee members. If elected officials wish to serve on the state committee, they must be elected as members at the caucus for their County or City.  

New Hampshire Republican Convention
 

The purpose of the New Hampshire Republican State Convention is to vote on the Republican Party platform, vote on any potential resolutions, nominate presidential electors when applicable (2012), and highlight Republican elected officials and candidates. In accordance with RSA 667 set forth by state election laws, the convention is held “Not earlier than the third Tuesday of September following any primary, and not later than the last Tuesday of October.”
