IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: HORN LETTER TO THE EDITOR ON INFLAMMATORY CARTOON
CONCORD - The Concord Monitor (2/20/13) published the following response today from New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Jennifer Horn to an offensive Monitor (2/19/13) cartoon that minimized the tragedy that took place in Benghazi:
Inflammatory Cartoon

I was naturally quite dismayed to see an editorial cartoon published in Tuesday’s Concord Monitor suggesting that New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte has been making “a mountain out of a mole hill” in her attempts to bring attention to the travesty of that took place in Benghazi, Libya.
Surely Monitor cartoonist Mike Marland does not intend to suggest that a terrorist attack on a United States consulate is a mole hill. Is it his suggestion that the death of four Americans serving in the diplomatic corps overseas is a mole hill? The first death of an American ambassador since 1976 is a mole hill? Or perhaps the wives who lost husbands and the children who lost fathers – are they the mole hills to which he refers?
This sort of inflammatory, disrespectful editorial cartoon just pours salt in the wounds of those Americans who have lost loved ones in service to our nation. I, for one, am proud that Ayotte is dedicated to getting unanswered questions answered and to bringing justice to both the victims of this horrific attack and their families.
Until President Obama is completely honest with the American people and fills in all the blanks in his story about the attacks in Benghazi, the questions will continue. Thank you, Sen. Ayotte, for fearlessly and relentlessly pursuing honesty and justice.
